It's a BOY!

Today Adam and I decided to open the hidden envelope after 1 month of holding onto it. We had such a fun family day with the girls. We had gone to church last night so the entire day we could hang at home, we had the girls join us in bed to watch cartoons, late breakfast, walk to the park, Adam worked in the yard and I read a book in the sun (aah it felt great!), and cooked out. At dinner I said, today has been such a good day, maybe we should open the envelope. I had been thinking about it a lot, and come to find out Adam had too. Today I was in Lola's room looking at a ton of pink socks that don't fit her anymore, I started thinking it would be really nice to know so I can either pack these away or go out and buy blue. Silly I know but there is such preparedness in knowing ahead of time.
I got the video camera out and asked everyone what they thought we were having:
Lucy "Girl"
Lola "Grrr""
Adam "I gotta go with them girl"
Me "I think girl too"
Adam opens....its a BOY!
What a boy! Oh my gosh! A million things going through my head mostly total excitement and SHOCK. Adam and I are so thrilled and feel like this little man will bring so much more joy and blessings to our life. He will have the greatest big sisters that will love him so much. We are so excited to get to talk about Hank now! We think it was a little confusing to Lucy and Lola to say Hank and Georgia, I started thinking Lucy may be thinking there were 2 babies.
Such a joyful night in our house and such a fun adventure ahead of us. God has such perfect plans!

Date Day

Today Lucy had a special date with Adam and Lola and I enjoyed a special date. Adam took Lucy to school and all the dads came and had breakfast with their kids. It was a 50's theme so Lucy wore a little poodle skirt and a poodle bow in her hair. Adam said it was a total blast. He and Lucy sat with our friends Nathan and his daughter Johanna. Adam said Lucy chatted the entire way to school. What special bonding for them.
Lola and I loved not having to jump in the car in the morning but instead enjoyed the beautiful weather. We took a walk and Lola grabbed her purse and hat. I am so happy she likes wearing her hat since she is more fair skinned. It was so precious. Lola started in the stroller and then decided she wanted out to push. We colored inside, played on the front porch and had a great morning. Adam and I agree that date days need to happen more often because both girls loved their one on one time.

My Dad is AWESOME!

My Dad is such a neat guy! I just love him to death! He is so fun and is the only person I know that can get away with wearing this on the golf course. He shot a 75 this weekend in this fancy outfit - so I guess it works. He is the nicest person in the world. I am lucky enough to get to chat with him on the phone every morning! I just loved this picture of him so much, he looks like a pro!

Sesame Street LIVE!

Adam and I were so blessed to take Lucy and Lola to Sesame Street LIVE! on Tuesday night with the Milam's. Blessed because these 2 girls LOVED every minute of the show. They sat through the entire thing, danced, sang and interacted with the questions the characters would ask. I would say this has been one of the biggest highlights of being a parent. Their smiles = a million thank you's! At the end of the night, Lucy said to Adam "Thank you Dad, for a great day" - my heart melted!!!
The music started...the girls were just figuring out what was about to happen.
Lucy was so intent watching the show. Sesame is one of our favorite shows to watch. It is actually the only kids show we watch. Lucy was very concerned because one of the characters Abby didn't have her wand. She kept yelling at her "Abby, you forgot your wand" - luckily for all of us, Abby came out a few minutes later with her wand in hand. Lucy was so excited. You can also see in the back of this pic Lola already starting her dance moves!
LOLA LOVED THIS SHOW!!! She was so much fun to watch - I think I watched her more than the show. She loved every second of the music! When the music would stop she would look at Adam and Milam like "HELLO - where is the music". She had to have been sore today from all her dancing!
This picture says it all!!! I was so close I couldn't get a great picture but this just says it ALL!
Still dancing!!!
These characters are so adorable
She loved every minute of this - cutie profile.
Super Dad bought cotton candy at intermission - Lola and Lucy LOVED it!
I asked Lucy to smile and this is the pose I got - love it!
And the show is back on - I love this picture!
I love this picture - my 3 favorite people!!!
I wasn't so lucky to get them to look.
Here is a picture of Lucy and Connor walking back from the show - I just love it! They are the best of friends!
We hit up Chuck E Cheese with the Diaz and the Milam families after the show. We had never been as a whole family - it was fun, wild and crazy! The kids loved running around, screaming and enjoying all the lights and sounds. It is amazing to me how old Lola is, she was running, yelling and having a blast with all the other kids.
I love this picture - the smile on Connors face and Lucy face close behind! They had a blast!

My Marathon Man

This past weekend Adam ran the Austin marathon. I was so proud of him and the fact that he ran and finished with a great time. He ran 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 50 minutes. I myself can't even fathom running for almost 5 hours. He had a blast, told me great stories about how he just ran listening to a few different books on his iphone as he ran while people stood along the race track cheering him and the other 20,000 people along. We are waiting for them to post pictures from his run so I can post on our blog. Way to go Adam - You are crazy & I love you and am SO PROUD of you!
