More fun in Florida

We are still enjoying our time in Florida. The weather is so amazing and so is the company. Aunt Fav and Hunky are the best hosts ever. Megs has been so helpful with Lucy getting her out of her crib, feeding her ALL of her meals and spending tons of time playing with her. I love watching them together. The other night we tried to put Lucy down at her 7:00 bedtime but she wanted to stay up until 10pm and play...since we are on vacation I thought it would be okay. It ending up working out because there was a little excitement in the neighborhood with 3 fire trucks - luckily there wasn't a problem but we got to see the cool fire trucks up close. Megs and I worked on a few paint projects while Lucy was sleeping and of course lots of Tippi Toes. The parks here are unreal. We have taken walks everyday and yesterday actually went to 2 parks. It is wonderful! We are so lucky to get this precious time with Megs and Chris. Fire Truck outside Fav and Hunky's house

Lucy decided to stay up late with us and snuggle...we couldn't argue

Park time...Fav has taught Lucy to kiss everything, so here she is kissing the playground toys. I am sure they are cleaned everyday and very sanitary.

Megs artwork - it turned out so great!

Does this show you how much Lucy is in love with Megan. She stopped eating and just kept hugging Megan she loves her so much!

OK, so we were at the coolest park ever. We took Lucy to see his amazing turtle she was was more interested in the block of wood. Lucy's imagination is so incredible she sat there and just kept talking to this wood. It was so funny.

She kept a close eye on all the kids at the park.

She loves to swing

Uncle Donald Has a Farm....E-I-E-I-O

Florida is a total blast! Lucy and I came to visit Aunt Fav and Uncle Hunky (Megan and Chris) on Friday for the week. We have already had so much fun! Adam has a lot of work this week and will be busy so we thought it would be a good time to visit. I know that my traveling will slow down after baby #2 is born so we are taking advantage of a few more trips before Dec 18. Lucy traveled great - I was so thankful. I am 8 months pregnant and I was really worried about having a "lap child on the flight" but everything went great! We sat by really nice helpful people and Megan came into the airport and swooped Lucy up right when she saw her. It was so fun, Lucy spotted Megs through the glass at the airport and ran towards her. She didn't want Megan out of sight...and still doesn't. She LOVES Megs...okay we all do! We have already been able to go watch Chris coach baseball at Daytona State, watch the OU/TX game (boo), bake cookies and eat them, and go to the pumpkin patch/petting zoo! It has been a great time so far. We miss Adam like crazy but have been lucky enough to Skype with him every night so he could say good night to Lucy and I.
Check out this warm-up outfit and the pose.
Uncle, Coach Chris or Hunky...whatever we call him - We just love him!
Hunky took Lucy in the dugout with all the player.

Breakfast in Austin

Lucy with Grandpa and Grandma

Feeding the Deer
Buzz reading Lucy her new book!
This weekend we went up to Austin to spend some time with Adam's parents. It was so relaxing! We stayed at the lake and it was beautiful. Buzz and Daisy have an awesome view of the lake and I bet here before too long the view will be even better when all the trees change. The weather could not have been better, it was in the 70's. Adam and his dad participated in a triathlon and did amazing! This triathlon consisted of a 800 meter swim, 3K run, 20K bike and another 3K run. Adam finished 66th overall and Buzz finished 3rd in his age group. They did great! The race was on Sunday the and unfortunately the weather was not that great. It was cold and rainy and they took a boat to the start. Daisy was there to take pictures while I stayed at their house with Lucy. They were all three so freezing when they came back but all said it was a blast! Another fun thing we did was get to feed the deer. Deer are all around the house, Daisy would get food and she and Lucy would feed the deer. Lucy loved it so much! It was a really great weekend! On our way home we got to stop by our friends Clint and Stephanie's house and got to see their little boy Lane. It was too short of a visit but super fun to see them and have the kids play!

1 Nap, 2 Naps, No Naps?

Is it that time already? Giving up a nap? Is that a hard thing to adjust to? I have been struggling the last 2 weeks with Lucy's nap schedule. She was a perfect napper up until about 2 weeks ago. She was clockwork - 9:30-11:15 and 2:30-4:00. I knew I needed to get errands run in that amount of time to be home for the precious naps. About 2 weeks ago Lucy decided not to take that morning nap. I put her in bed like normal and let her cry it out like normal which really only takes about a minute and she would crash...well not this day, I kept looking at the clock. She wasn't crying but more talking, playing and having a grand ole time. I wasn't worried because I thought she was entertaining herself and using her imagination. I loved it. I found myself glued to the monitor in aww of her. OK so scratch that nap. She was really tired for nap #2 fell right to sleep about 2:00 but awake 30 minutes later to what...play! Alright that was just a crazy day. Day 2, same deal, Day 3 - "aww mom I think I am going to skip both naps...but you can try all day to get me to sleep." This is almost more exhausting, work so hard rocking, shhhing (yes that came back), letting her cry...so much time past but I wasn't going to give up, plus she is not much on me sitting as I rocker her so she perches her little booty on my baby bump and gets really comfortable - me not so much, but love the snuggles. Day 4 (weekend - Adam was home he can help!) Lucy - "yeah dads home I will show him my new trick...not sleeping". Day 5 - one long nap from 12 - 3 - did we figure it out? NO...day 6 - one 20 minute nap, Day 7....you get the point. Anyway there have now been 2 full weeks of this craziness today with another "no nap". They always say you can get your child in position to sleep have everything right, but you can't close their eyes and make them go to sleep. So needless to say 6:30 rolls around and Lucy is conked out. I am determined to get on a schedule and figure it out. I think much has to do with those big chompers in the back of her mouth that are coming in...we will see. The great thing about this, is she doesn't give me the cranky card...too much. When she is up she is still happy, sweet and playful - it must be me and my pregnant belly that just needs a few minutes to myself though out the day and I am a big believer that kids need their sleep. I have decided I am pleased with one nap per day and getting adjusted to that before our baby #2 comes in mid-December.
On another note Lucy is in love with her bathrobes. We got a few when she was born that she is just now able to fit into and she thinks she is a rock star - well she is...check her out!

First Haircut!

Lucy got her very first haircut this morning. We had been thinking about a haircut for a while and got mixed reviews from people...some thinking she was to little with not enough hair. Well this week I had 3 different people ask me if I was trying give Lucy the mullet - that is when Adam and I decided it was time! After her dance class this morning Adam and I took Lucy to get her haircut. They had a neat little car that she got to sit in and the best part a lollipop. She did pretty good, only a few tears. This week I took Lucy to visit the library which was really exciting for us. She loves to read and had a lot of fun picking out books. During Adam's lunch break on Wednesday we took Lucy to the Aquarium to see all the neat fish. She loved it. The dolphin show was of course a highlight! The other real excitement came when we were only one of a few people there that day. Lucy got to walk around all by herself go right up to the fish tanks and talk to the fish. We were excited to have lots of activities planned this week!
