Say it ain't so...the Milams are gone

Today was such a hard day for our family. The Milams officially packed up and moved to Houston. I have known for a long time it had been coming but...never dreamed it would be so hard to say good-bye. The Milams were the first couple we met when we moved to Corpus... and 8 years later & 5 babies it was time to wish them well. So excuse all the pictures but I had to take a walk down memory lane. It was clear God wanted them in Houston and in the long run it will be what is best for them - but the quick meeting at the park so the kids could say hi and play, the every single weekend "what are we doing" question, all the kids birthday parties that we go together, the Hooks games, the pool dates, the cookouts and everything in between will be missed too much.
Brooke is a one of a kind friend. She really is the ALL STAR girl that drops anything she is doing to help, that goes above and beyond to make you feel special, cracks you up when you don't expect it, listens when that just what I need, helps me wrangle the kids when there just seems to be too many. She is the party thrower extraordinaire, the most thoughtful, loving most sincere person I know. I pray that her qualities have brushed off on me a little - because I would be lucky. As for her hubby Milam - well...there's nobody like him either. I always know when Milam is around it will be fun. He is funny, kind, giving, playful with all the kids and a total guys guy - which Adam adores. He is the friend that is always there or can be there. He came over on 2 different occasion to help us out. One when Adam was out of town and Lola got so sick and I needed to take her to the hospital and the other when I went into labor with Hank in the middle of the night.
The blessing and what I keep trying to think about is although we are now not a walk away - we have so much to look forward to on weekend trips and get aways. The Milams are a family that will be in our lives forever and I am feel so blessed to have them in our life!
This is a picture before Milam & Brooke got married and we hosted a wedding shower.

Hank is crawling

I have to admit I am far behind on milestones for sweet Hank - poor guy. Anyway I have saved this post and typed it several times and 2 weeks ago I had a video and now you have nothing. My point Hank is crawling!!! He has been crawling for about 3 weeks and loves it! He basically crawls to the first spot he can pull up. He is in love with cords and electrical sockets. I am amazed because long ago when I was pregnant with Lucy I had every socket covered and she nor Lola was ever interested...I didn't really think about it with Hank because it had never been a problem - but here was go again covering everything in site.
Hank is as sweet as can be, has 2 bottom teeth finally that came in the same day he started crawling! He sleeps from about 630pm-7am. He still drinks his bottle but really isn't that interested in it - he would rather wait until one of the girls drops their water and he steals that. He is loving solid food - especially blueberries, carrots and peas. Hank is waving good bye and every now and then will say "da da" that's right...all 3 kids said dad before mom.
The girls are totally nuts for him. He is super easy, always happy and the biggest joy in my life!

Tippi Toes Day at the Ball Park!

On Sunday we hosted Tippi Toes day at the baseball stadium. It was so much fun! All the kids actually wore Tippi Toes shirts but then one special class wore costumes and joined the players on the field. I brought some extra shirts to the game for parents to buy and those flew out of my hands so fast. It is so fun to see entire families support Tippi Toes. We had over 500 people at the game most in Tippi Toes shirts. I will work on getting a picture!
