This past weekend Adam, Lucy, Wrigley and I went to visit Adam's parents at the lake. It is always so relaxing there and fun to spend time with them. We celebrated Thanksgiving with them with the expert cook - Miss Daisy. She is an amazing cook - so I know Adam at least got one good Thanksgiving. I am "cooking" a meal for us this year however I have ordered the turkey and may not have all the sides but I am blaming it on being pregnant. We drove to the lake on Friday night after Adam got off work, enjoyed Thanksgiving and some football - wait not some - a whole day of football and a trip to IKEA. It was a crazy trip because Lucy got sick for the first time in her life - darn flu bug. Sunday we relaxed, hung out together, watched a little more football, had a great time at the local park and had a dance party with Lucy. Buzz and Daisy joined in on the dancing while Lucy showed them what to do. She was a littler performer - and they were great students following every step she made. Adam and I enjoyed every minute of watching them together. We waited to come home until today and if that darn flu bug didn't follow us - Adam was sick the entire way home and has been asleep since 3:00, then Buzz called me and said Daisy has caught it too. I hope they get better - there is nothing worse than feeling sick.
Tomorrow Adam and I are going to the doctor for my 37 week check up. We will get to see our little one with the ultrasound. I still can't believe I am 37 weeks, much less pregnant. I am feeling really great, the baby is super active and I am anxiously awaiting his/her arrival. We are enjoying our time so much with Lucy and know that it will get even more fun with her little play mate arrives.

Yesterday, Lucy and I met Adam at a local restaurant Brewster's Street to say farewell to the head groundskeeper at the Hooks as he and his wife will be moving to the triple A team in Round Rock. We love Brewster's because they have a playground! Connor also was there so Lucy and him enjoyed time playing in the beautiful weather! The swing and the slide are favorites at this point.
Today my good friend Brooke hosted a play date at her house. Wow let me just say it was the best! She invited a great group of little kids and her food was amazing. I will compare her to Martha Stewart, her house is always perfect, clean and her son is always so dang darling. We love the Milam's so much. Aside from Brooke and Connor, Katie was there with her two girls Layne and Elliot, Amanda and her daughter Parker and one of Brooke's neighbors Elizabeth with her daughter Sydney. Connor was the only boy...he had his pick of the girls. As usual Lucy and Connor shared many kisses! We are staking our claim on him!!! Lucy loves playing with other children. She really enjoys her time with Layne. Layne will be 3 in January and I think Lucy really likes being around her since she is older. She is really good with Lucy, it seems whatever Layne finds to play with Lucy decides she needs to have. This has become my first parenting challenge. I try to tell her to share but don't feel like it makes sense to her yet. Luckily Katie is so nice and Layne and Lucy end up kissing and hugging. Layne even calls Lucy her "best girl". It was a great day and again I have to say I am overly blessed with good girlfriends!

Date with Daddy, Dinner with Neighbors and SHOES galore!

Date with Dad! Lucy and Adam had a very special date on Tuesday. Lucy got all dressed up and was so excited when we pulled up to the stadium and started saying "Daddy, Daddy". She loves her Daddy! They walked across to Brewster's street and enjoyed grill cheese, a cookie and the amazing playground. While they were enjoying time together I got to go to lunch with some girlfriends. Brooke, Jen, Virginia and I went to Hester's for lunch and then got a little shopping in - although no purchases. It was fun to get to spend time with the girls. Brooke has been so good about setting activities for us to do. Thursday she is hosting a play date at her house - it will be a hoot! I am sure we will be posting pictures from that fun event! Life is so fun with girlfriend time!!!The best neighbors! We have the greatest neighbors ever - June and Skip live right across the street from us and take such good care of each of us. Adam and skip play golf, June will take Lucy on walks to give me a little time to catch up on things, and they have us over for dinner about every other week. She is an amazing cook and they are both so great with Lucy. During the days Lucy and I go visit June about 3 -4 times a week just to say hi. Last night they had us over for an early "Thanksgiving Pizza Party". They know Lucy very well. They knew to give her the meal first and then bring out the fruit otherwise the pizza never would have been eaten. Lucy rules the house when she is there and June and Skip love that (or so they say). We are so lucky to have them in our life, we are blessed!Lucy Nuse just inherited the biggest shoe collection in the world. I feel really guilty about it because there are so many. One of my friends has 2 little girls that are 3 & 4, always dressed precious and totally with the latest styles. My friend was telling me how she needed to go through the girls closets and start getting rid of stuff. She told me a lot of it would fit Lucy perfectly. Most still had the tags on them and very few of the shoes had ever been worn. I thought sure, if I don't want them I can always donate which was honestly what I thought would happen - WRONG! Dee gave us 4 tubs - not the little tubs - BIG tubs of shoes and clothing and she was so right tags still on them NEVER BEEN WORN. I was in awe, so last night I went shopping in the tubs of items. I was amazed at all the darling outfits that had never been touched from newborn to 4T. She has her girls match on most days so not only did she have one cute outfit - but 2 of them in 2 different sizes. You know the outfit - the apples dress, with the apple sweater, apple tights and the apples shoes - I am talking full outfit did I mention NEVER BEEN WORN? Adam and I were going through everything and I was feeling so guilty - what 1 yr old needs all these shoes. Friends and family have helped me feel better - we may end up with more girls in our family, then cousins, friends and donation can always happen. Since it is free to us why not enjoy - so we are! Anyway, I just had to share this shoe collection because when I look at the picture my jaw still hits the floor and keep in mind these are just the shoes I have considered keeping - there were many many more however enough is enough. Don't bother counting I will tell you in this picture are 71 pairs of shoes. Shall I open a shoe store? Now if I can only convince my friend to go through her closet and start "getting rid of things" the Nuse girls would be set!

Lucy went to her first arts and crafts "class" although not really a class. Any of you in Corpus need to go over to Portland and go to the Creative Arts Center and have your children paint. The couple that own it are amazing and were so great with Lucy. We worked on a special project for Lucy's grandparents and she also made a little platter to put Santa's cookies on at our house. WE get to pick up her final project on Friday! I will post pictures later. I don't want to spoil our grandparents surprise!!

A Dolphin Encounter

Adam had an awesome "business meeting" on Friday! He was invited to go to the Texas State Aquarium to enjoy a dolphin encounter. He went with 2 other co-workers and got a tour of the aquarium, and got to meet these friendly dolphins, Shadow and Ky. A baby update: I am 35 weeks pregnant and we are all getting really anxious to meet the new addition to our family. The last month or so Lucy has been kissing my belly and says baby, although I know she doesn't understand what is about to happen I think it is progress. This pregnancy has been a dream. I have felt amazing and really some days I haven't even felt pregnant I haven't had one day of being sick - yeah! This baby is a mover and wiggles all the time. I love that feeling so much, it is such a special bond and feeling. The last week I can tell I am nearing the end, I am having a harder time getting around. I have managed to sneak some naps in while Lucy is asleep which really isn't like me, but well needed. Night time is a little harder getting sleep as my stomach is beginning to cramp up every now and then and those lovely frequent bathroom trips. Although my comfort level has gotten worse, it makes me more excited knowing I only have a few more weeks to wait. I had a doctors appointment this past week and the doctor thinks the baby is already engaged and ready to go. I promised myself I would not get too excited thinking we may have an early arrival because with Lucy being 8 days late - I think I would just be setting myself up. I will enjoy these last few week with Lucy as an only child. We have a few play dates planned, dates with dad and a few special activities. It is amazing how quickly her 14 months have gone - I want to make sure I cherish every second.

I love this picture of Lucy and Connor. They have both learned to give kisses and aren't shy about it at all. Connor is our friends Brooke and Michaels little boy who will be 1 in January. Lucy is such a little lover...you only have to know her for about 10 minutes for her to decide she wants to give you kisses. This pictures shows exactly how she puckers those lips! Aww, I just love those kisses!Last night we went to San Antonio to meet Adam's parents for dinner and pick up Wrigley. Wrigley went to Grandma and Grandpa Camp while we were traveling. He had a blast. It is so great to have him home! The Rainforest Cafe was awesome. We had never been before and loved it. It is so kid friendly and so much to see. We sat close to a huge elephant. Every 30 minutes there was a thunderstorm, the lights would flash and the animals would make noises. It was a perfect meeting spot!

Halloween, Murder Mystery, Grant's Farm and Much More!

We just arrived home from the last trip we will take as a family of 3. Next time we jump on an airplane our sweet little baby "Hankaline" will be joining us. This was Lucy's 16th round trip flight...this girl is a great flyer. We went to St. Louis to enjoy some crisp weather, awesome family time, and trick-or-treating like I remember growing up. My sister Jennie and Matt had my entire family visit for 5 days in St. Louis. It was so much fun. We went to Grant's Farm where Lucy and Adam fed goats, Lucy rode on a carousel, and she pet a chinchilla and a little mouse named Lucy. Halloween could not have been more perfect we were dressed as a team - Adam a baker, I was an oven (with a bun of course) and Lucy was a little cupcake. My mom and sister were a crow and scarecrow, the Marchals were the 3 Little pigs and my dad was a classic clown...doing magic tricks all night for the little kids! The deal was we had to make our costumes...like we did growing up. It was fun and a little challenging. While in St. Louis, Adam put together a Murder Mystery Party to celebrate my birthday. He sent out invitations to my family we all dressed the part as we tried to solve the Murder at the Honky Tonk. It was a wonderful trip and we made many memories! I am so thankful and very blessed to have the family I do! Adam is the most amazing husband, I am a lucky girl! Gannon and Lucy LOVE each other and had a blast together
