Thankful for Precious Neighbors

Last night Adam, Hank and I got to take our neighbors June & Skip out to one of our favorite restaurants! It was our gift to them for being the greatest neighbors in the entire world. It was fun to spoil them for a night since that is what they do to us most nights. We still haven't found a baby sitter that is completely comfortable with all 3 kids at bedtime and Hank so easy so just came along. June and Skip live across the street from us and literally do so much for us. At least once a week we either have a dinner or dessert brought to us, June comes and visits every day. Some days she will stop by and say hi for 15 minutes and other days she will stay and play for a few hours and let me run and do whatever I need to get done. Yesterday she came over and the girls wanted to play in the mini closet in our room that we have made into a "secret play room". So June crawled in there and the girls played beauty shop with her. She loved it, they loved it and I loved it! Skip and Adam are golfing buddies and Skip loves the kids and lets them crawl all over them. They don't have grandchildren yet, but they bought a high chair for their house too so all the kids have a spot to sit. With both of our families far away it is nice to have friends that often times feel like family!

Hank 6 months old!

Our sweet little Hank turned 6 months old. This weekend I am going to have a photo shoot with his but here is what I have now - comparing to his sisters. Do they look alike?
Hank is the sweetest baby - seriously. He is all smiles and snuggles all the time. He is in love with Lucy and Lola and when he is around them there is a constant smile on his face. He coos, oohs and laughs all the time. He rarely fusses and if he does it is an easy fix with either a diaper change or a feeding. He is nursing as well as eating solids. He loves bananas and peaches and I am trying to convince him that veggies are good too. The face he makes with green beans and peas is priceless. He is not a great sleeper but does sleep through the night from about 7pm-5:30am and then naps 2 times a day. He would rather be held during the day than lay in his bed which we are really working on. I think all the travel messed him up a bit. He had his 6 month check up and he was right on track with his growth at his 6 month check up. He weighed 15lbs 11 oz and was 25 3/4 inches tall. He is right in the middle on the percentages. He has his first ear infection and also is suffering from RSV - which from the past we know it is not fun. He is not nearly as bad as when Lola had to go to the hospital. Hank can sit up, roll from front to back and back to front. He reaches for everything and puts everything in his mouth. Still no teeth. His hair is growing in quickly and I am still trying to determine what color it will be. Hank is the best snuggler and a total lover. We are blessed by him every single day. He is just like his dad - he is a pleaser, easy going and just happy all the time! We love you Hank - Hanky - Hankydoodle - Hanker Panker - little big - whatever we call you we love you do much! More pictures just of Hank soon to come!

We made it to Tulsa!

Tulsa is always such a blast! This Christmas we all met at my parents house and enjoyed every minute!! Adam and I drove with the kids and it really went pretty well. Life with a DVD player in the car makes everything a ton better. We bring tons of snacks, coloring books, books, a potty chair and as much entertainment at we can. The total time of travel is about 12 hours assuming we don't get stuck in a bunch of traffic. The kids do so well. I often break the law by Adam driving while I get in the back and change diapers, nurse, and let Lucy and sometimes Lola go potty. That way we keep moving!!! That is the key! We stopped 2 times to stretch our legs! It is always a challenge once we get out to get everyone back in. We were so HAPPY to make it to my parents and not get back in the car for an entire week!
Papa Newt & Lola!

Christmas in San Marcos

Adam and I are so lucky to both have such amazing parents who love our children so much. They got spoiled so incredibly much by both of our families. Each year we switch off who we spend Thanksgiving & Christmas with. We always celebrate Christmas with both families depending on when it lands. We went to Adams parents house the weekend before Christmas and the kids had a blast!
