Lucy - Flower Girl

Tonight Lucy got to be in a good friends wedding Kara. She was the flower girl and did AMAZING! I was blown away. The rehearsal she did ok, but it took 4 tries. We bribed her and pumped it up so much. Fave was at the end of the isle with a "lollipop" which was really a chocolate covered rice crispy treat with sprinkles. She starting off feeling confident, made it about a quarter of the way and then turned back to me...I told her Fave had the lollipop and that's all it took. She pranced her way down the isle. I was so happy!

Kara and Dave has an unbelievable wedding. The love was evident in the room. They were both smiling the entire time ear to ear. Kara is an amazing women and it has been fun to grow up together. It is funny, I babysat her when she was little and we have always stayed close. We are so thankful they made us apart of their special day!

Tippi Toes Meeting

While in Oklahoma Megan and I had the chance to meet with our Oklahoma franchise owners. We enjoyed a great lunch, exchanging ideas, talking shop and having fun. These ladies are amazing and doing a fantastic job. I really wish we could get together more!

What we did on this rainy weekend

Make pizza, although Lucy liked dipping her apples in the tomato sauce. She also bumped her nose, not very hard but it called for a band aid according to Lucy - so there you have it!
Lola wasn't a fan of this pizza sauce
We painted - it was suppose to be pictures but turned into body painting, which is WAY MORE FUN!
Lola discovered Wrigley's food...oh no!
Lucy found my lipstick....that I had been missing for over a year
Lola practiced moving and shaking. She is all over the place now. She is wobbly but we counted 15 seconds of her standing up all by herself.
Most importantly we played in the rain. This is Lucy after playing beauty shop this morning on a walk with our neighbor, June. June is the best neighbor. Called Adam this morning and said "Can Lucy take a walk?", He said "June have you seen outside" She said "Yes, we are going to walk and play in the rain." They both had a blast and Adam, Lola and I watched from the porch. Not sure who had more fun Lucy or June?
Here they are after about 30 minutes of playing in the rain!

Getting back up to date

We have had a really busy September so far. Tippi Toes has been so much fun these first 2 weeks as we continue to grow in enrollment and reach children all over through dance. Lucy and Lola go with me to most of the classes I visit and have so much fun! The first few weeks I typically observe 4-5 classes a week, checking in with all my teachers. I am blessed with amazing teachers who understand our mission at Tippi Toes and work hard at improving the lives of children. We have gotten more Adam time which I totally love. Now that the season is over he is home every night for play time, dinner, baths and bed - he makes everything so much better - I just love him so much!
Another thing that has kept me busy the last few days was we are in the finals to be on the show Shark Tank which airs on ABC. We found out via email from their casting director in which she sent me a 22 - page application and also assigned a 5 minute video. Megan and her hubby Chris came in since Megan and I had to do everything together. Many people asked "was it so much fun to put that together" answer was "NO". Not to bore you too much but really it was hard. We are going on Shark Tank asking for money/connections/help for our company SOFO Entertainment which is our children's entertainment company - Not for Tippi Toes. Our ultimate dream is to have a children's television show that will promote healthy eating, exercise and manners. The basic story comes from the book we wrote "Pink Ballet Shoes". In each episode it will get the children up dancing and being active. Our dream is to be the next Barney. Although many roll their eyes at Barney - you can't deny his success and his impact for children. Honestly, I think the show is great. So with that said we are not sure without it really being a lucrative business YET they may not want to bite. But any of you that watch the show know how they are, they can ripe you to pieces. We want to protect Tippi Toes without feeding that to the Sharks - but hope that they will bite on SOFO, which we feel is the better future business - more to come later. This is the project we spent most of our time on over Labor day.
Today, Adam and I took the girls to Lake Mathis and enjoyed an amazing day just the 4 of us! I love this special time with my family.

The End & The Beginning

Adam's Hooks baseball season is in the final week - YIPPEE! We look so forward to having him home every single night. Home for dinner, play time, bath time, bed time, and hanging out! He adds so much fun, excitement and love to our family and it is just not the same without him home. It is really funny how our jobs just slightly overlap. This being Adam's last week = my first week of our season. Tippi Toes holds classes September - May with sprinkles of classes throughout the summer. I am so excited for this year. We have amazing teachers, amazing families and darling little dancers. I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for Tippi Toes. As May will have it, we will be ready for a break from Tippi Toes and excited for the Hooks to start again!

Lola is PULLING UP

Pulling up and hanging out!
crawling position
uh oh - downward dog...
ok, I think I will just sit down

For the past week Lola Caroline has been pulling up, first on pillows, then the ottoman, now in her crib. She is working hard to figure out the crawl but ends up in the downward dog position wondering how to get where she wants to go. It is amazing to watch her. She has moves I have never seen. She typically rolls where she needs to go, sometimes its a scoot, other times I am not sure how she makes it but she does. She is really wanting to be on the FULL ON move but just not there yet. She also REALLY wants to talk. She is trying to babble...she is working on her b's. She is such a dear I just can't get over how big she is getting. In a few weeks she will already be 9 months - HOW CAN THAT BE? OHH I love her SO MUCH!
