Lucy's First Kickball Game - GO STARFISH!!!!

This was such a fun day! Lucy had her very first kickball game. Her team is the starfish - 9 adorable little girls with no clue what to do...PRECIOUS!!!

Lola managed to eat 2 snow cones and then went on to a pickle popper - which is frozen pickle juice. The kids loved it - gross me out the drain.

Say it Ain't So

As you know if you follow our blog we do almost everything with the Milam family. We knew about 3 years ago they were working in the next few years to move to Houston for Michael's job and to be closer to Brooke's family. It has always been SO FAR AWAY - until now. Well they put their house up for sale about 2 weeks ago and yesterday BAM - CONTRACT, Signatures and closing date of May 1. I can't bare to think about it much because it makes me sick thinking they won't be a close walk from our house, they won't be meeting us at the park, baseball games, church, pool, our house, their house and everything in between. We are certainly doing our best to make the most of the rest of their time here but May 1 is all too close for my comfort.

When I told Lucy, she said "oh good when are we moving with them?" - my thoughts exactly. We know there will be many phone calls, texts, and visits and of course we will know every move they make through her blog but ugh - it just stinks.

Little Stinker

OK - so it was 4:45am and we hear a HUGE BANG. Adam yelled as if someone was breaking in and we both ran as fast as we could upstairs to find....Hank flat on the floor wailing his little heart out. That's right Hank 8.5 months who doesn't crawl and hardly pulls up, crawled out of bed in the middle of the night and BAM hit the ground. Adam and I were shaking and Hank was so frazzled. I am still trying to figure out why we didn't hear him crying before he attempted this. Hank is changing everyday and getting much more active. He wants so bad to crawl - but instead wiggles to the place he wants to go, he as you can tell can pull up and is ready to skip all that and really would rather walk. Although I am sure we have a while to wait - which I am just fine with that is such a game changer. Anyway - Adam moved the crib all the way down and we have been up since. Eventful night to say the least!

Lucy's off to School

Lucy started her new school yesterday. She is going 3 days a week to the Academy of Living Literacy which is a readiness school and focuses on reading and math. She was so excited! She again picked out her "new favorite" outfit "that the kids will love", got a new backpack and was ready to go. She was up before the sun which is a big deal around our house. Adam and I were feeling like Lucy just needed more. Everyday she would ask "is it school day" and she was only going 2 days a week. She met so many new friends, I think this change will be great for her. Lola will follow in her footsteps beginning in June. It will be nice to have them both at the same place!

Our weekend

I love this picture - the girls picked out their own outfits. You can tell Lucy is getting the hang of matching and Lola is not there yet - but I love her outfit. She was so excited because Lucy was so sweet telling her she could wear any of her clothes.Allie & Hank - it is amazing how quickly kids change and grow. While at the mall Allie & Hank were having a great time, I think this is the first picture I have of them both propped up right.

There is nothing better to me than a weekend at home with my entire family with nothing to do. We had a great weekend. We played outside most of the time, the girls and I gardened, we went to the park, Adam and I got inspired to build a deck -just inspired nothing is done yet. We went to church and met the Milams at the play area at the mall. It was super relaxing and super fun!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here is a picture of my Gram, my aunt Judie and my cousins Ryan and Amy this past weekend!

Today is such a special day for our family. Ever since I was little I can remember getting dressed all in green, eating green food and fun parties. My mom's side of the family have passed this tradition down - and no one better than Gram! She has a big St. Patrick's Day week, she has been the marshal in the Kansas City Brookside parade, she sends out hundreds of St. Patrick's Day cards, she even has a room at her house call "The Irish Room" - green carpet and all. It is such a fun day! It is hard living in Corpus Christi on a day like today when people look at your weird for being all decked out in green. My mom ended up having to mail me some stuff for the kids because there isn't much in Corpus for this holiday. This day holds so many wonderful memories and I can't wait to pass this tradition down to our kids!

Growing up in Tulsa my parents would get us out of school early and we would host a big St. Patrick's Day parade at our house - the fire trucks would lead it and all the families would follow behind with signs, bikes and banners. Jennie and Matt have a huge St. Patrick's day party every year, Megan and Chris do and well - we have had one and then tried another one that included a parade and it was a BUST. So today I thinking of all my family and friends having a blast while we eat green pancakes and deck out in green here in Corpus Christi!
