A chill in the air!

This week we have enjoyed some really cold weather. It is 40s & 50s which is freezing in Corpus!! We had the kids Thanksgiving meals and programs at school, lots of park time and even threw in a hot chocolate sale on our porch.

This cracked me up - Lucy's choice for her Thanksgiving meal - this plate is totally what my sister Megan does every thanksgiving, except her plate is always rolls and pickles.

Hank has discovered the iPad and is obsessed! We have to limit his time bc he would be on it all day if he could!

Setting up for the hot chocolate sale

These girls play so well and are the best of friends!!! It is so sweet and special. It was a hard day for sales for them - they were charging $7 for a cup, sold 3 and made $4. Well done!

June's birthday party

We got to celebrate June's birthday this past Wednesday! We had her family over for lasagna and cake! Our life is so much greater thanks to her friendship. We hit the jackpot moving across the street from her. Happy Birthday June!!

Unplanned amazingly fun weekend

So when I was thinking ahead to what we had to do this weekend the answer was - nothing! I love weekends like that! So on Friday night Adam and I took the kids to Spiritfest. It was a Christian concert and had some great artist. The girls love the song "overcomer" by mandisa and so we were pretty excited to hear her sing live.

Saturday morning I woke up to a birthday surprise! The kids made me the most adorable gifts. A painted jewelry box, a painted cross and a picture frame. Adam got me a new sonic care Roth brush and electric floss, new sun glasses (which are awesome, I think it is so hard to pick out sun glasses much less for someone else - so well done) and my parents spoiled me with a few new shirts, precious pjs, a bracelet, robe. I was feeling the love and surprised bc my birthday is still a few days away!

We also went car shopping. I really hate car shopping. Adam has been researching cars for about a month every single night to find deals for us. My car has been having serious problems and it has just hit over 100,000miles. He also was on the hunt for a new car to replace his truck. His truck is amazing but he is the only one ever in it and it is a gas guzzler. He decided if he was going to save he was going to save the most he could. Here are Hank and Adam working deals!

And check this out - if you are thinking what I was telling Adam - below it is the ugliest car ever. However it is saving a ton of money, gets 44miles to the gallon and my sweet Adam didn't care what color it was as long as it got him from point A to point B.

The girls hugging our old car good bye

Hank in the drivers seat!
Then we came home from what was a long day...to a tiny surprise party and a beautiful cake made by my amazing neighbor June and her soon to be daughter in law Christina. Adam quickly poured a few glasses of wine for everyone, whisk the kids off to bed and we enjoyed an adult game night! It was a total surprise and so much fun. How sweet is this dance cake! It tasted like heaven!

They forgot candles so they lit matches and started singing to me! How cute is that!

Game Time! Oh yes and we raided the kids Halloween candy - that is what you see all over the table!
Somebody was having a little too much fun!!! He fell straight out of his chair while trying to guess the answer

Then Sunday we went to church and came home and Hank fell asleep on me - HEAVEN!
While we were busy with our weekend the rest of our family was celebrating sweet Harper's 1st birthday. It is amazing to think last year I was there for that incredible day and now she is 1. She is the sweetest, happiest baby I know!
Loving her cake!
And of course sharing it too!
Jennie, Kilian, Ella & my mom got to join in the fun in Florida! I love this picture!
How about this little cutie - another baby that seems to always have a smile on his face! Yummy!
J & Kilian snuggling on a cool Florida morning!

My conversation with Lucy

Lucy melts my heart. She is 5 yrs old and tonight putting her to bed we had the most precious conversation I never want to forget.
Lucy: "what do you think my husbands name will be"
Me: " I don't know what do you think"
L: "Matt"
M: "that's a good name, I like that"
L: "ya, did you know I can snap"
M: "that is really cool"
L: "when should I start looking for my husband"
M: "you don't have to look for him, God has him picked out and when it's the right time God will bring him to you, but you could start praying for him."
L: "that's wierd, like do I need to go wait on a bench for him"
M: "no it will be when you are older"
L: "well my eyelashes are really soft and when I get married and walk down to my husband I will stop by you first and say hi because I love you"

I just want to bottle her up, real conversation and an amazing little 5 year old!!

Party at our house before trick or treating

We had 2 other families join us. 9 kids 6 and under - they had a blast!!!

Hank and Lola were trailing behind a bit- more like strolling and eating candy.

Now to the part they liked best - passing candy out! When people stopped by our house they were given serious candy from these 4 girls.

Our sweet babysitters stopped by to say hi in costume!!
