Lucy is a ROCK STAR and Baby #2 is too!

It has been a crazy fun last 2 weeks. Lucy and I have made the rounds and Adam got to join us in Tulsa! Lucy and I made our first stop in Kansas City to visit my Gram and many aunts and cousins. It was so much fun. I have pictures but I will save it for another post. My aunt threw Lucy a garden birthday party. It was just for the girls and everyone wore old hats and we had sandwiches, cupcakes and punch. It was so great! Then my cousin Katie and he husband Mitch has a family get together the next night. It was a ton of family fun and a blast seeing all the kids. There were 11 kids ages 1 -10. They all did really well together, we are blessed with amazing family.
Then we headed to Tulsa and got some awesome time with my parents. It doesn't take Lucy long to warm up to my parents or Adam's parents which is so great. She goes right to them all! My mom and dad were so helpful. Having extra hands around allowed me to work on Tippi Toes, plan her party and get to see some old friends. Lucy always loves her time in Tulsa. On Thursday Adam, my sisters and Matt and Gannon arrived! Friday on Lucy's actual birthday we all went to the lake for some fun in the sun. Saturday had the party and Sunday - well we rested! Lucy is still busy catching up on sleep yesterday and today she had a 2 hour nap and a 3 hour nap and was crashed by 7pm each night.
Lucy has been a total joy for Adam and I this past year. God is so amazing to give us her as a gift. I can not get over how much changes in one year, she is smiling, walking, talking and just being her own little cute self. I can't wait to see what her lifetime brings us - I know it will be so much love and happiness.
Now...for baby #2! We are calling the baby Hankaline (Hank or Caroline) are the names we have picked out! This baby is a mover and shaker just like Lucy was. This pregnancy has been really easy and fun. Time is flying so quickly and I feel like Dec 18 will be here before we know it. I am getting lots of kicks, especially when Lucy is in my arms. It is fun to be feeling both babies at the same time. I will go to the doctor this Friday for my 6 month check up. Lucy being so in love with babies could not come at a better time. She will be a great big sister!
JJ and Lucy playing in the front yard. It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed it so much!

Loved the lake - hated the life jacket
My parents got Lucy this baby stroller and a baby for her birthday. This stroller kept Lucy and Gannon entertained the entire weekend. Whichever one was pushing it was on a mission to get there fast. Lucy still was learning about running into things but loved loved loved every second it it.

This picture was too cute not to post. Lucy got new cowgirl boots from my cousin Teri and has loved loved loved them.
My best friend from growing up Caroline in from North Carolina with her son Carter to help us celebrate for Lucy. Here is a pregnant picture of Caroline and I. She is 7 mth and I am 6 mths. We have been so lucky to not only go through our first pregnancy together but now our second.
The finishing touches. My mom is so helpful and creative and helped us throw an awesome party!
We had buckets set out with all the kids names and goodies inside (balls and bubbles) My parents did this for me when I was little and so we thought we would do it for Lucy too!

The celebrations begin!

Birthdays are too much fun to only celebrate for one day so...we are celebrating for a whole month! Yes! That is right - you only turn 1 - one time. We are having 2 birthday parties one in Corpus Christi and one in Tulsa and then a small celebration in Kansas City with my Gram. I never was going to be the mom to go nutty for birthdays - but I did, I liked it and I am not ashamed-bring on the next party! Lucy's actual birthday is August 21, but we thought she was going to be born on the 8th so we partied then, then her due date was the 13, so we will party then and her actual birthday is Aug 21 - so we will party then again! Lucy was blessed with lots of friends there to celebrate and a whole lot of fun! She wasn't too sure what to think of the whole eating the cake deal - she ate the frosting very slowly and then began to feed me the cake. I think she was confused because I never give her something that large to just go after. The cake and cupcakes were made by our good friend Katie Davis. Yes, that is right, we didn't order a cake from a bakery although it certainly looks like we did. Katie has never taken a class just has a passion for this. She is so talented and we were lucky to get to enjoy her talent. I promise the cake tasted just as great as it looked! The gifts were a blast too. Lucy loved opening them. Adam and I thought it was hard for the other kids to watch so we let everyone open a gift = mass confusion and craziness. It was nutty and not the best idea but fun fun fun! The first gift Lucy opened was a baby doll from Brooke, Michael and Connor. It was stuck in the box so we took it away so we could get it out and she went nuts - she loved loved loved it! Adam's parents got to come in town to celebrate and gave Lucy some adorable gifts. They spoiled her rotten and we all loved every minute of it! As they say, that's what grandparents are for! Check out the pink car they got her!!
Happy 1st Birthday Lucy spelled out in cupcakes
Getting to see her car the night before the party - she loved it and so did the other children!

Grandpa and Lucy - she thought it was super fun to dip her hand in his water. She is climbing on everything - this was the best picture I could get of her skirt - darn.
The cake and cupcakes - didn't Katie do AWESOME!
Lucy with Sawyer and Kingston - two of the cutest boys in the world! Check out Sawyer winking for the camera.
Kingston and Lucy exchanging a hug! This is after I caught Lucy with a handful of Chexmix

Lucy and Parker - 3 weeks apart and great buds! Parker dressed in pink for Lucy birthday! They are so dang cute together.

Our good friends the Milams with baby Connor. Connor just had his 6 months shots the day before and wasn't feeling the greatest but he was so sweet and such a snuggler!
Happy Birthday Lucy!

Digging into her cupcake - NO we did not let her go for the big cake - we aren't crazy we wanted to eat that!
Sharing her birthday cake with mommy!

Will crusin in Lucy's pink car! He was having a total ball! Will is so awesome and good with all the little kids. He was a champ at helping open the gifts and is so great at sharing. Opening gifts - we had so many helpful hands!

Connor enjoyed a ride on Homer - Grandpa and Grandma gave this to Lucy for Adam's office. A perfect toy to have at Dad's office at the baseball stadium.
Layne relaxing after a long party. This is one of Katies little girls. She was a dancing queen! She also was found in Adam and my bathroom sweeping the floor during the party. What a good helper!

Lucy and Grandma! Daisy is a great shopper, she got Lucy so many darling clothes. In this picture she is wearing a rinestone shirt that says birthday girl!

By the end of the party Lucy became a pro at drinking out of a juice box. She has never had juice in her life and on her party day she...I will just say A TON!
Thank you to all who came!

Bath Time is So Much Fun!

Lucy loves her bath time! I decided to bring the camera upstairs while giving her a bath. As you can see we had so much fun!
